Lambão Sauce Recipe

That's what the name says: this is a sauce for you to smear yourself with! Slightly spicy, it goes very well on barbecue, with grilled meat, baião de Dois, feijoada or even rice and beans of everyday life. After appearing in the soap opera 'Segundo Sol', the lambão sauce gained popularity, however it has been around for a long time in Brazilian cuisine: it is a typical vinaigrette from the Northeast. Check out how to make lambão sauce here. Below we share the step by step with you, don't hesitate to try it!

Ingredients for making lambão sauce:

 3 chili peppers

 3 smelling peppers

 2 tomatoes

 1 green pepper

 1 red onion

 ½ bunch of coriander

 ½ lemon (juice)

 ¼ cup of white vinegar

 1½ cups of olive oil

 salt to taste

How to make lambão sauce:

Place the chilli peppers and sweet peppers in a pestle and mash until you get a paste. Reserve.

Tip: Add a little oil if necessary. Remove the seeds from the peppers if you prefer a less hot sauce.

Finely chop the remaining ingredients: tomatoes (seedless), peppers (seedless or white part), onion and cilantro.

Tip: If you don't have red onion, you can use another one. However, red onion is best to eat raw because it is less acidic.

In a bowl place all the ingredients (including the pepper paste) and mix well. Your lambão baiano sauce is ready to make your recipes more delicious! Try serving with, for example, grilled sirloin steak. Bon appetit and let us know what you think!
